Van Oldenbarneveltstraat leads to the Westersingel, a broad canal with stately mansions connecting Central Station with Museumpark. Central Station, Museumpark, entertainment district “Witte de With,” and shopping area “de Koopgoot” are all within a 5-minute walk from the front door.

Van Oldenbarneveltstraat dates back to the nineteenth century. The buildings mainly consist of mansions with beautiful, richly ornamented facades and large glass windows. Van Oldenbarneveltstraat – ‘the street that makes YOU smile’ – is a lively street with a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants.

The street is known as the ‘high-end fashion street’ of Rotterdam. For your latest outfit, you can visit the clothing chain Filippa K, the fashion and design store Hutspot, or the boutique Wendela van Dijk. In Van Oldenbarneveltstraat, you can also enjoy a relaxing treatment at skin-bar by Marijke Bathoorn, get a new haircut at Sjenkels, and pamper yourself at cosmetics store and salon Retreat.

'Curious' Apartment

You reach the apartment on the second floor via a shared staircase. The entrance hall features a wardrobe with LED lighting and a video intercom. To the right is the toilet, equipped with a small sink. The toilet room provides access to the laundry room behind, which has a washing machine and tumble dryer.

From the hall, you enter the living room at the front of the apartment. The high ceiling and large windows with classic frames make the living room bright and spacious. One of the large windows functions as a “French balcony,” allowing you to sit in the late afternoon and early evening and enjoy the street activity. The living room is furnished with a custom-made bookcase with a television and a comfortable designer sofa with a footstool.

The apartment has a luxurious, handleless kitchen equipped with all conveniences such as a dishwasher, large fridge-freezer, ‘apothecary cabinet,’ 4-burner induction hob, combi-oven-microwave, and sink with a mixer tap. The kitchen features an extra deep worktop, allowing easy setup of kitchen appliances. The dining area includes a round table with four beautiful, comfortable chairs.

From the living room, a sliding door leads to the bedroom at the quiet and green rear. The bedroom has two opening windows where the morning sun shines in. When the sliding door between the living room and bedroom is open, sunlight streams deep into the apartment. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed (1.6 x 2.0 meters) with two wall-mounted night lights. The custom-made wardrobe includes hanging and shelving space and special compartments for suitcases.

A second sliding door from the bedroom provides access to the bathroom. This space features a sink with a chest of drawers and mirror cabinet with LED lighting, and a spacious walk-in shower with a rain shower. In addition to underfloor heating, the bathroom also has wall heating for faster towel drying.
